Traveling for Facial Rejuvenation

A large portion of Dr. Karam’s surgical patients travel from outside the area. When it comes to the face, precision and experience matter, and many patients are willing to travel for a specialist whose entire practice is focused exclusively on facial plastic surgery. Every aspect of the process is designed to support patients who are away from home, from consultation through recovery.

A Streamlined, Supportive Experience

Out-of-town care is planned with intention. Pre-operative preparation, scheduling, accommodations, and post-operative support are coordinated in advance to reduce stress and uncertainty.

For patients traveling alone, additional aftercare support is available to assist with post-surgical needs during the initial recovery period.

Consultation Options

While an in-person consultation is ideal, many out-of-town patients begin with a phone or virtual consultation before traveling. This initial conversation allows patients to:

  • Virtual consultations provide clarity and direction before committing to travel.
  • Discuss goals and concerns directly with Dr. Karam
  • Learn about recommended procedures, risks, benefits, and timing
  • Review medical history and submitted photos

How to Schedule a Phone or Virtual Consultation

To begin, call or email the office to request a consultation time. Submit current digital photos (front view and both side profiles), and share your preferred contact information. During the consultation, Dr. Karam will review your photos, listen carefully to your concerns, and make individualized recommendations.

After Your Consultation

Following your consultation, a patient care coordinator will prepare a complimentary preliminary quote based on the discussion. Once you’re ready, scheduling is coordinated around both your availability and Dr. Karam’s surgical calendar.

Pre-Operative Planning

Most pre-operative testing and preparation can be completed in your hometown. Approximately two weeks before surgery, a patient care coordinator will:

  • Review detailed aftercare instructions
  • Coordinate required medical studies
  • Confirm travel and recovery plans

Dr. Karam will see you in person the day before surgery to complete a final examination, review the surgical plan, and take pre-operative photographs.

Post-Surgery Stay and Recovery

After surgery, patients are required to remain in the area for a designated recovery period. The length of stay depends on the procedure performed and will be discussed during consultation. Recovery planning is necessary to achieve optimal results and is coordinated in advance.
