Perhaps no other operation in plastic surgery has a greater impact in enhancing the way you look than rhinoplasty. Rhinoplasty is a procedure designed to improve the shape of the nose. Even a subtle change can have a big impact on the attractiveness and balance of the face.
Facial aging can be emotionally difficult. It has manifestations on our professional and social lives. My patients often express that they no longer can recognize the face in the mirror. Or they feel younger than they look. Unfortunately, eventually, they begin to feel as old as they look and this is when their quality of life is affected.
Your eyes are the first thing others see when they look at your face. An immediate impression is formed about your age, level of energy, and how tired you are. The eyes are also the first part of the face to show the signs of aging.
“Otoplasty” refers to reshaping the ears. Candidates for otoplasty include any adult or child with prominent or misshaped ears. The most common reason for this procedure is to correct protruding ears.
When a mole is no longer desired, a procedure known as mole excision can remove the blemish, with minimal scarring. A scalpel is used to excise the mole cells from beneath the dermis, ensuring that the mole does not grow back at a later date.
When the lips are protruding, are enlarged or when they appear bloated due to a lip augmentation gone wrong, a lip reduction may be the near-perfect solution. During this procedure, Dr. Karam carefully excises the excess lip tissue, closing the incision inside the mouth with dissolvable sutures.
The fat transfer procedure takes unwanted fat from a donor area such as the hips, thighs or belly and purifies it, readying it for transfer to another area that is depleted of volume due to the aging process. The result is not only a slimming effect on the donor area, but a plumping of the target area that leads to a more robust, youthful aesthetic.
A revision rhinoplasty can be performed for a variety of reasons, among them surgical errors such as over-operation, or under-operation. A revision rhinoplasty may also address functional issues of the nose that have become a problem after a primary rhinoplasty.
When a deviated septum or other structural imperfection is causing the client to experience breathing problems, sleeping problems or both, a functional nasal surgery can help to correct these issues, clearing away obstructions in the airways.
In the old days of plastic surgery, there was literally one model for rhinoplasty, which was that of the Western Caucasian patient. This type of nose job often involved reducing the hump, shortening the tip and refining the nostrils.
You may feel youthful and at the top of your game, but when you look in the mirror, your eyes tell a different story. There is no area of the face hit quite as hard by aging as the eyes.
Dr. Karam's 10-year journey has resulted in a culmination of techniques we now call Vertical Restore. This procedure provides astounding results, with none of that "done" look that facelifts so often cause.
